Basically, the announcer will say something like "now" to which you will reply on the following beat with the spacebar hit. In some cases, he will say "hold" and wait a moment before the next beat. Other times he might say "3" followed by 3 notes in beat after beat hit. Also when he says "go" you will hit on the beat.

My math was wrong when making this, so there is no window to hit the beat even a little bit early you have to be on the beat or a little late. I extended that window to make it more playable and also

if you are struggling to play and beat the game. on beat hits mashing the spacebar really fast will give you enough momentum to avoid falling to death.
